Canon BG-E11 Battery Grip for EOS 5D Mark III, 5DS, & 5DS R

Long wedding days, event coverage and portrait sessions shot mostly in vertical orientation expose the limits of a single battery and an awkward handhold. The Canon BG-E11 is the dedicated grip for the EOS 5D Mark III, EOS 5DS and EOS 5DS R, and it addresses both problems at once.

Inside, it holds up to two LP-E6 battery packs, roughly doubling the number of frames you can shoot before a swap. If you run out of charged packs on location, the included magazine accepts six AA cells as an emergency backup. A standard 1/4″-20 tripod socket on the base means tripod plates and brackets mount just as they do on the bare camera.

The grip duplicates the controls you use most, including the shutter button, Main Dial, multi-controller, AF point selection, AE/FE lock and AF start, so portrait-orientation shooting feels as natural as landscape. The extra size also gives a fuller handhold that balances heavier lenses such as 70-200mm zooms during hours of hand-held work.
