The PowerShot V1 is a compact camera designed around content creators. Its 1.4-inch sensor is larger than the 1-inch sensors used in most premium compacts, giving cleaner low-light footage and more background separation, and the built-in 16-50mm-equivalent lens, f/2.8 at the wide end, is wide enough to film yourself at arm’s length.
Active cooling supports long recording sessions, and the camera records 4K 30p, cropped 4K 60p and Full HD up to 120p, with Canon Log 3 for grading. A built-in ND filter keeps shutter speeds cinematic in daylight, while optical IS and Movie Digital IS steady handheld footage, and subject recognition follows people and animals.
The vari-angle touchscreen flips forward for self-filming, and a tally lamp, microphone input, headphone socket and windjammer cover the audio side. It streams over USB-C as a plug-and-play webcam, charges from USB Power Delivery adapters, and also shoots stills at 15 fps mechanical or 30 fps electronic.
