The Sony FX6 packs full-frame Cinema Line imaging into a modular, run-and-gun professional body. Its 10.2MP back-illuminated Exmor R sensor delivers UHD 4K recording at up to 120p with 15+ stops of dynamic range, while dual base ISO of 800 and 12,800 provides clean images from studio lighting to available-light documentary work. S-Cinetone color science, inherited from the VENICE digital cinema camera, produces rich, film-like skin tones straight out of camera.
A standout production feature is the electronic variable ND filter, seamlessly adjustable from 1/4 to 1/128, which lets operators hold a fixed aperture and depth of field as light changes. Fast Hybrid AF brings reliable phase-detection tracking and Eye AF to cinema workflows. The compact chassis offers a detachable top handle and smart grip, 12G-SDI and HDMI outputs, XLR audio inputs, and dual CFexpress Type A / SD card slots, making the FX6 equally at home on a gimbal, a drone rig, or a documentary shoulder build.
