The EOS 2000D is a straightforward, affordable DSLR for anyone taking photography seriously for the first time. Its 24.1MP APS-C sensor is far larger than a smartphone’s, so it handles low light better and produces genuine background blur, while the optical viewfinder shows the scene directly, with no lag.
Automatic modes choose settings for you on day one, and full manual control is there when you are ready to learn exposure. The 9-point autofocus system with a cross-type center point locks on reliably for portraits, travel and family events, and Wi-Fi with NFC sends images to your phone through the Canon Camera Connect app.
The included EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II covers wide to short telephoto with about four stops of image stabilization, and Full HD video records at up to 30p. A single LP-E10 battery lasts for around 500 viewfinder shots, enough for a full day out.
