Two XA (extreme aspherical) elements, one Super ED and two ED glass elements deliver G Master resolution with minimal coma and chromatic aberration, exactly the flaws that ruin night-sky images on lesser wide-angle lenses. Two XD Linear Motors provide fast, silent autofocus for video and gimbal work, focus breathing is well controlled, and the 9-blade circular aperture produces clean sunstars when stopped down. A rear filter holder accepts sheet filters despite the bulbous front element.
