The Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM II is the wide-angle pillar of the G Master trinity, rebuilt to be approximately 20% lighter and 10% smaller than its predecessor at just 547g, the lightest lens in its class. Landscape, architecture, and event shooters get a constant f/2.8 aperture across the entire ultra-wide range, with corner-to-corner resolution driven by five aspherical elements, including two XA elements, plus one Super ED and two ED glass elements.
Four XD Linear Motors deliver the autofocus speed and precision that fast-moving event and video work demands, while suppressed focus breathing and smooth zoom tracking make it a first-choice lens for professional video production. The 11-blade circular aperture renders refined bokeh at close distances and crisp sunstars stopped down.
