Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM Lens

For a first full-frame EOS R kit, the RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM covers wide landscapes to tight portraits in one compact lens. At 395g and 88.8mm long, it keeps an EOS RP, R8 or R6 Mark II light enough for all-day travel and walking around a city.

Optical image stabilization rated at about five stops keeps handheld shots and walking video steady, and the lead-screw STM motor focuses smoothly and quietly while recording. The variable aperture is what makes the lens so small; in good light or on modern sensors with clean high ISO, it is rarely a limitation.

Its party trick is Center Focus Macro. Switch to manual focus at 24mm and the lens focuses as close as 0.13m, about 2.5cm from the front, for 0.5x magnification at the center of the frame, perfect for flowers, textures and small objects. In autofocus it still reaches 0.4x at 105mm.
